2010 Race Updates:

History of the Race
In 1990 the 2nd edition of the Raid Gauloises expedition race was held in Costa Rica – teams crossed Costa Rica from Caribbean to Pacific Ocean in 10 days of extreme expedition racing. The race was an inspiration to us and 2 years later Coast to Coast Adventures was born.

During the 90s CtoC Adventures operated 2 week long trips across Costa Rica for adventure seekers - the trip has continued and today, 15 years later, people still enjoy this incredible multi activity adventure across Costa Rica.

In 2001 CtoC Adventures decided that it would be fun to put on a race along the same route that they have been running their commercial trips successfully for so many years. Five Costa Rican teams, mostly made up of adventure guides, started on the Pacific and headed to the Caribbean side. The winning team finished the 3 stages of the race in just under 36 hours and The Coast to Coast Challenge was born.
