10 DAY RACE ITINERARY:

The following is a 10 day race itinerary for teams coming from outside the country. You just need to show up ready to race, and we will take care of the rest.

November 26th (Friday) – ARRIVAL Teams will be met at the airport by a CtoC representative and driven to their hotel in San Jose. No activities are planned for the evening.

November 27th (Saturday) – Race Prep and transport to the coast. After breakfast we load buses a head to the Pacific coast. On the way to the coast we stop for lunch and the official race briefing. From here we continue the drive to the Pacific Coast. After some time to get organized and settled into your room we will begin the gear check (3 to 6 pm). Dinner is set for 6:30 followed by the captain’s meeting at 7:30 pm. Coast to Coast Challenge
November 28th (Sunday) – START!! Teams will be given the first stages race instructions and all maps at Breakfast. The race will begin on the beach at exactly 10:00 am.
November 28 to December 3 - Race Days
This year’s route is longer than normal but not necessarily harder. The route will remain secret until the start but we can tell you that there will be equal amounts of time hiking, biking and paddling across Costa Rica. At some point during the race there will also be a couple of ropes sections. Teams will be given a list of UTM coordinates revealing the location of the check points that they will have to reach. Route choice between check points will be a critical part of the race. We expect the top teams to start arriving at the finish sometime during the morning of December 2nd. At the finish, teams will stay in cabins on the coast and have the opportunity to rest up and enjoy the arrival of other teams.

Coast to Coast Challenge December 4th (Saturday) The final race cut off is at 8:00am giving teams a total of 143 hours to complete the course. After breakfast, teams will transfer back to San Jose. Arriving around 3pm, teams will have the afternoon to pack and get ready for the Awards Ceremony (7pm).

December 5h (Sunday) – Departure Teams will be picked up at their hotel and transferred to the airport for their return flight home.

The cost of this 10 day program is $3,500 per team. To register your team - send us an
email with your team name and country(s) of origin. It is not necessary to have team members listed on the first email – we will get that info from you at a later date.

If you are one of the first 15 teams we will reply to you with directions on how to pay the deposit of $500 USD. Final payment ($3000) is required before October 15th, 2010.

Note: If team members would like to arrive early or stay a few extra days after the race let us know and we will help you with logistics. If you have family members and/or friends that would like to follow the race we would be happy to help with arrangements.
